The children encounter Merlin the Magician and learn how he saved the town of Helix from a herd of marauding dragons. Presto decides to become Merlin's apprentice, but in his attempt to find a spell which could send his friends and himself home, he unleashes the dragons upon Helix once more. 
2 "The Eye of the Beholder" Hank Saroyan September 24, 1983 (1983-09-24)
Dungeon Master tasks the children to bring down the deadly Beholder. Their only ally in the struggle is Sir John, a cowardly knight who is soon blackmailed by Venger into leading the children into a trap. 
3 "The Hall of Bones" Paul Dini October 1, 1983 (1983-10-01)
While fending off another of Venger's attacks, the children's weapons inexplicably fail. Their only hope of recharging them lies in the Hall of Bones, an ancient tomb for the bravest of warriors. But Venger learns of their plans to reach the tomb and tries his best to get his prospective prizes into his hands.

An evil wizard named Kelek seeks the powers of the Unicorns for his own use. Uni is kidnapped by him, and the children must hurry to save their little protegee.

Evil warrior Warduke manages to capture Dungeon Master, and the children set out to free him before he is delivered to Venger. 
6 "Beauty and the Bogbeast" Jeffrey Scott October 22, 1983 (1983-10-22)
The children encounter a band of enslaved humanoids called Bogbeasts, and Eric of all people must lead them to freedom. 
7 "Prison Without Walls" Steve Gerber October 29, 1983 (1983-10-29)
The children stumble upon a gnome village enslaved by Venger and his orcs and must free their sorcerer. However, Venger has the gnome sorcerer captured within a prison from which there is no apparent escape... 
8 "Servant of Evil" Jeffrey Scott November 5, 1983 (1983-11-05)
Right on his birthday, Bobby's friends are kidnapped by Venger and brought to a dungeon which is virtually escape-proof. His only hope of rescuing his friends is a person who has been coerced into becoming Venger's gaoler (prison guard). 
9 "Quest of the Skeleton Warrior" Buzz Dixon November 12, 1983 (1983-11-12)
A war-bird riding knight cursed into undeath seeks out the five children to recover an ancient artifact from the tower of his old order. But inside the tower, the children must confront and overcome their greatest fears. 
10 "The Garden of Zinn" Jeffrey Scott November 19, 1983 (1983-11-19)
During a fight with a dragon creature, Bobby is fatally poisoned. The only cure can be found in the garden of Queen Zinn, who is willing to give it to them, provided that Eric becomes her husband. But this request is not as innocent as it seems.

A sorceress friend of Dungeon Master possesses a chest which could bring the children back home, but once again Venger does not want the children to leave his grasp. 
12 "The Lost Children" Jeffrey Scott December 3, 1983 (1983-12-03)
The five children encounter another band of children stranded in the Realm as they are. Their father possesses a ship which could take them home, but he is now Venger's prisoner, and the children must infiltrate his stronghold to bail the man out. 
13 "P-R-E-S-T-O Spells Disaster" Jeffrey Scott December 10, 1983 (1983-12-10)
Caught in a giant's castle, the children's only hope for freedom is Presto, who has eluded capture but is still as bumbling with his magic hat as ever. In aiding his friends Presto also rescues the young of one of the few remaining good dragons left in the realm. 

Season two: 1984

The children find a cart from the Dungeons and Dragons ride and attempt to use it to return home. Before they can board it, they find a young girl named Terri who rode the cart into the realm. The girl happens to have a magical necklace which contains power that can predict the future through dreams. The children set out to find a magical portal found at the end of a deadly maze that can take them all home. 
15 "The Treasure of Tardos" Michael Reaves September 15, 1984 (1984-09-15)
The children encounter a creature called Demodragon, a deadly creature that can destroy the realm. The children must go to Tardos Keep to find a way to combat it. The cities treasure, Dragon Bane, must be used to control the Demodragon.
The show ends on a cliffhanger, as Dungeon Master is shown to have compassion for Venger by stating there was once good in him and that he was Dungeon Master's mistake. This may alude to the fact that Venger is revealed to be Dungeon Master's son in the unproduced "Requiem" episode. 
16 "City at the Edge of Midnight" Michael Reaves & Karl Geurs September 22, 1984 (1984-09-22)
A young child named Jimmy gets pulled into the Realm from under his bed and taken to the City at the Edge of Midnight. Bobby also gets kidnapped and taken there. The children must go to the city to get back Bobby and those taken hostage in the city. 
17 "The Traitor" Jeffrey Scott September 29, 1984 (1984-09-29)
The children befriend a pack of teddy bear-like creatures. After Bobby and Hank are taken hostage, Hank is seen planning an attack on the teddy bear civilization with the enemy. The rest of the children suspect he has betrayed them. 
18 "Day of the Dungeon Master" Michael Reaves October 6, 1984 (1984-10-06)
Eric is granted the powers of Dungeon Master as the Dungeon Master takes a day off, and the children seek out a book of magic called the Golden Grimoire in a city called Dark Haven to find a way home. 
19 "The Last Illusion" Jeffrey Scott October 13, 1984 (1984-10-13)
Presto meets a young girl named Varla in a swamp. The young girl must use her powers of illusion to not only terrorize the nearby village, but also to help the children. The children must rescue Varla to end the villages torment. 
20 "The Dragon's Graveyard" Michael Reaves October 20, 1984 (1984-10-20)
After Venger thwarts another close encounter with getting home the children contemplate killing him. They formulate a plan to get Tiamat's help and seek her out in the Dragon's graveyard. 
21 "Child of the Stargazer" Michael Reaves October 27, 1984 (1984-10-27)
A young man who is thought to be the center of an extraordinary prophecy crosses the children's path. The prophecy involves overthrowing a powerful demonic sorceress, and the children attempt to help the young man fulfill the prophecy.

Eric's curiosity about a seemingly harmless box leads to the return of the most powerful enemy the kids have ever faced, He Whose Name Cannot Be Spoken. With both Dungeonmaster and Venger drained of their magic, the race is on to see who can recharge at the energy spring in the Dungeon at the Heart of Dawn first...before the Nameless One destroys the entire Realm! 
23 "The Time Lost" Michael Reaves October 12, 1985 (1985-10-12)
Venger's got a new idea for eliminating his annoying young enemies, and uses his Crystal of Chronos to pull both a futuristic plane and a WWII German Luftwaffe pilot who crash lands his Stuka dive bomber into the Realm. Venger intends to send the pilot, Josef Müller, back to Earth to win the war for Germany and, by changing Earth's timeline, prevent the Kids from ever coming into the realm. But after meeting the kids, Josef has other plans. 
24 "Odyssey of the Twelfth Talisman" Mark Shiney & Michael L. DePatie September 21, 1985 (1985-09-21)
A lonely but sharp-witted orphan, Lorne, finds a lost amulet that leads him into big trouble. He and Eric become fast friends through the usual exchange of insults and put-downs, and the gang teams up with him on their search for the Stone of Astra. But the wizard Korlok, who also seeks the Stone, is following them... 
25 "Citadel of Shadow" Katherine Lawrence September 28, 1985 (1985-09-28)
Anxious to prove her worth after a botched thieving job, Sheila befriends Karena, a young woman who is more than she appears to be. Soon the kids are in the middle of a VERY bitter family feud indeed! 
26 "Cave of the Fairie Dragons" Katherine Lawrence November 9, 1985 (1985-11-09)
Tasmira, queen of the Faerie Dragons, is held prisoner by the greedy King Varen, who desires the fabulous treasure they guard. Aided by the sassy little dragon Amber, the gang must free her and help her people relocate to a new home. 
27 "The Winds of Darkness" Michael Cassutt & Katherine Lawrence December 7, 1985 (1985-12-07)
The Darkling, a skeletal creature of darkness, kidnaps Hank. The kids have to convince the kindly Martha to help rescue their leader, before the Darkling claims his final victim and his Winds of Darkness destroy all light in the Realm. But Martha has been hurt by the creature one too many times and wants nothing to do with their quest. 
28 "Requiem" Michael Reaves Unproduced
The children finally have a chance to return home - but is it worth the risk?
